About Me

Welcome to DESMONTEI, the maker lab and official blog of the Curiosity Channel!

If you can’t look at an electronic device without wondering “how does this work inside?” — and, more importantly, “what can I build with these parts?” —, you are in the right place.

My name is Luan Valladares, a reverse engineering enthusiast and the mind behind every removed screw (and crazy project built) here at DESMONTEI.

🌍 From Brazil to the World: Global Presence

What started as a simple hobby channel exploded and crossed borders. Today, Desmontei is globally recognized for its hardware hacking and automotive Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects.

Our project of turning a discarded smartwatch into a Digital Shift Knob for an Audi A4 B5 went viral in all corners of the globe. Desmontei’s garage engineering has been featured on the biggest tech and automotive portals on the planet:

Our mission: satisfy curiosity (with tools!)

DESMONTEI was born from a passion: discovering what makes things tick and preventing technology from becoming e-waste.

On the channel and here on the site, we explore:

  • Teardowns: we open up gadgets and devices to reveal their internal secrets.
  • Reverse engineering and DIY: we repurpose old parts to create innovative projects, mixing 3D printing, Arduino, and coding.
  • Tech insights: we discover details that go unnoticed even by the manufacturers.

Why a blog?

Video is perfect for showing the process — but for those who love technical details, source code, and wiring diagrams, it moves too fast.

That’s why the Desmontei.com.br blog is the headquarters of our ecosystem. Here, you will find:

  • Open-Source Files: Code, 3D printing STL models, and complete tutorials for our most famous projects.
  • Step-by-step guides: teardowns turned into detailed articles, with high-definition photos of every step.
  • Tool lists: discover exactly which screwdriver, soldering iron, or multimeter I use, along with my recommendations.

Thank you for sharing your curiosity with me.
To disassemble is to understand the world — one piece at a time.
